This was a very short project, one day in fact but I think it’s a great example of one of the different styles of furniture that we polish. French polishing is often seen as something solely for use on antique furniture but as with some of our other posts, it should be clear that it’s finishing that can be used on any kind of furniture, antique, brand new, or in this case 50s style.
As you’ll see from the images, this table was in a pretty poor state, with lots of water and heat marks. However, a simple day’s work, to strip and re-polish, was enough to return it to a lovely piece of Walnut furniture.
This style is really fashionable at the moment, so if you have quality secondhand pieces that need doing up and you want to sell, its definitely worth getting them re-polished, as they are in high demand.
