How To: DIY Plaster Coffee Table !! 2 sheets of 1/2 inch plywood (4’x8′ – get your hardware store to cut these in half to make four 4’x4′ pieces) 1 piece of 2-in x 10-in x 10-ft. 3 boxes of Plaster of Paris (2kg each) 1 can of Minwax Polycrylic Sealer. 1 roll of mesh drywall tape. Traditional smiths finish metal with wax or oil; when choosing oil, a drying oil, such as boiled linseed or tung oil , is a better choice than raw linseed oil or mineral oil . It’s also a good idea to thin the oil before applying it and to heat the metal to improve penetrability.
