Where can I donate furniture? Many local charities like Goodwill, Salvation Army , or Habitat for Humanity will take gently used furniture.

They also refuse large console stereos and television sets and automobile parts, including wheels or tires. You can’t donate potentially dangerous or polluting items, such as chemicals or paint.
Donate clothing, household items donations , furniture donations and even baby item donations to the Society of St . Vincent de Paul by scheduling a free St . Vincent de Paul donation pick – up .
Goodwill . To donate your furniture before moving, simply drop everything off at a local Goodwill Donation Center. Many Goodwill locations also offer pickup services. If your furniture is heavy, I recommend calling a nearby Goodwill to ask if they offer this particular service.
Donations Goodwill CANNOT Accept Furniture that is covered in animal hair, broken, worn, torn, stained, or missing parts. Bean bag chairs. Sleeper sofas. Due to the Digital TV Transition, Goodwill will only take flat-screen tvs. Excessively large/bulky items such as swing sets, swimming pools, unbound carpeting, etc. Large appliances:
Goodwill does not prepare items before they sell them. They don’t wash clothes , wipe off dirt or dust from items, or put in missing screws or parts that some items need. You also should make sure that clothes are washed and clean before giving them away to a Goodwill store.
Does Goodwill Take Bras ? Though donation guidelines vary by location, some may accept and sell clean, gently worn bras in their stores. Contact your local Goodwill to see if bras are an approved item are on their list. And don’t stop at your own bedroom door!
DVDs, VHS , CDs, vinyl records, Blu-Ray, etc. baseballs, basketballs, fishing poles (not tackle), footballs, hockey gear, tennis rackets, etc.
Salvation Army is the best to donate because the clothing, money, and goods do directly to those in need. Goodwill certainly helps those in need, but there is also a number of executives that earn money from the sales of donated clothing and goods.
Donate to Charity If you are wondering how to get rid of old books , one of the most common solutions is to donate them to charity. These charities then either distribute them for free, or sell the books to fund the charity’s operations.
